This Blog is merely a resource-portal for the position that Islam is by choice, whether entering or exiting Islam. The views of the 100+ persons are to make Muslims and others aware and informed about this position, so that gradually the broader Muslim community will take interest in this issue and modulate their position that better and properly reflects Islam's principle of freedom regarding faith.MuslimUniversehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14683406404093141117noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1667699785177531289.post-19861184316521138012014-10-15T18:59:29.226-07:002014-10-15T18:59:29.226-07:00There is no such thing as freedom to believe in ku...There is no such thing as freedom to believe in kufr (disbelief). Those who are accountable (i.e., sane, pubescent, and have heard the Shahadah in a language they understand) are obligated to become Muslim if they are not - I don't mean that one goes and kills or terrorizes non-Muslims, what I mean is that Allah does not accept kufr, it is not accepted by Allah, that they will be punished in Hell for this kufr, if they are accountable. In a Dec. 2, 2010 survey, the Pew Research Center reported the following as the percentages of the Muslim population of each country supporting the death penalty for people who leave the Muslim religion: Turkey 5%, Egypt 84%, Jordan 86%, Lebanon 6%, Indonesia 30%, Pakistan 76%, Nigeria 51%.

These countries account for 39% of the world's Muslim population. Within these countries, approx. 308 million Muslims approve of the death penalty for apostates. This means that, in the sampled countries as an aggregate, roughly 50% of the Muslim population is in favor of death for apostates.

In addition, a 2007 survey called "Living Apart Together" by the Policy Exchange found that 31% of UK Muslims believe that Muslim conversion is forbidden and punishable by death. (The figure was 36% for the 16-24 age group, and 37% for the 25-34 age group. There is a clear trend for the young to be more radical than the old.)

The conclusion is that, while there are Muslim countries that are more tolerant (like Turkey and Lebanon), on the whole, the belief in death for apostates is a gigantic problem in the Muslim world. The figures do not support the view that, overall, reformists are the mainstream and ultra-conservatives are a medieval or fringe element. They are very modern, and mainstream enough to account for 50% of the population of all Muslim countries which have been surveyed to date.Arslannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1667699785177531289.post-51437838222729808552008-06-15T00:18:00.000-07:002008-06-15T00:18:00.000-07:00Assalam-o-Alaikum!Sorry for complaining but the po...Assalam-o-Alaikum!
Sorry for complaining but the post is too long to read.Imad-ud-din Saqibhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15617008748275053548noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1667699785177531289.post-81028285733759722452008-04-14T04:31:00.000-07:002008-04-14T04:31:00.000-07:00You have posted some very good write ups of Islami...You have posted some very good write ups of Islamic faith.
